A small neighborhood shopping and dining district in Mountain Brook, the affluent suburb over Red Mountain from downtown, with a compact strip of good restaurants and cafes. Less gritty than Avondale or Five Points South, but reliable for a good meal in a pleasant setting. Several of the restaurants here have the best kitchen talent in the metropolitan area.
Worth the short drive south if you're staying downtown and want good food in a quieter setting. The area is walkable once you arrive, though you'll need a car or rideshare to get there.
