A food hall in the renovated Pizitz department store building, which was Birmingham's premier downtown shopping destination from 1925 to 1987. The food hall on the ground floor has a dozen vendors offering everything from sushi to Indian to Southern comfort food, plus a bar in the center of the hall. Above it, the building has been converted to residential apartments.
A good option for a quick lunch or an early dinner with a group that can't agree on a restaurant. The building's renovation is one of downtown Birmingham's best adaptive reuse projects and worth a look even if you're not hungry. Located a block from the Civil Rights Institute.
