Five Points South Fountain

The bronze fountain at the center of the Five Points South roundabout is a Birmingham landmark. Designed by sculptor Frank Fleming and installed in 1993, it depicts a ram surrounded by whimsical woodland figures — goats, fish, and human forms — in the style of European fountain sculpture. The fountain has become the unofficial symbol of the Five Points neighborhood and a useful orientation point.

Five Points South takes its name from the five streets that converge at this junction, creating the rotary. The area has been Birmingham's most vibrant commercial neighborhood since the streetcar era, and the fountain marks its center. A good meeting point before exploring the surrounding restaurants and bars.
