The civic heart of downtown Birmingham, Linn Park is a formal green space flanked by the Birmingham Museum of Art on one side and City Hall, the Jefferson County Courthouse, and the Birmingham Public Library on the others. The park hosts outdoor concerts and the city's main public events throughout the year.
The park itself is pleasant rather than spectacular, but the buildings around it — particularly the Jefferson County Courthouse and the Alabama Theatre nearby — make it a worthwhile stroll. The Birmingham Museum of Art's sculpture garden extends into the park's northern edge. It is a good place to orient yourself when you first arrive downtown.
