Morris Avenue

Morris Avenue is Birmingham's best-preserved Victorian commercial street, a three-block stretch near the railroad tracks lined with 1880s-1920s brick warehouses that once served the city's wholesale trade. The buildings have been renovated into bars, restaurants, and event spaces without losing the character of the original structures.

A good destination on a Friday or Saturday night — several well-regarded bars and restaurants operate here, and the atmosphere is livelier than most of downtown. The street's cobblestones and iron columns give it a distinct character that you won't find elsewhere in Birmingham. A short walk from Railroad Park.
