Coby Hall is a stately white Greek Revival house built in 1843 by James Sample, one of the early settlers of Florence. It stands on the south edge of the University of North Alabama campus, fronted by tall white columns and surrounded by old magnolias.
The hall has belonged to the university since 1948 and now houses the development and alumni offices. The exterior and grounds can be visited at any time, and the building is one of the better examples of mid-19th-century domestic architecture in the Tennessee Valley.
