Housed in a restored 1903 brick home a few blocks from downtown, the Kennedy-Douglass Center is Florence's main visual arts venue. The galleries show rotating exhibitions by regional and visiting artists, and the centre runs classes, evening lectures, and an annual juried show.
Admission is free, and the small garden behind the building is a pleasant spot for a sandwich after the Indian Mound or a downtown walk. The centre also hosts the annual Indian Summer Days arts and crafts festival each October.
