Utkeagvik Presbyterian Church Manse

The Utkeagvik Presbyterian Church Manse, built in 1900, is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Utqiagvik and a stop on the National Register of Historic Places. The clapboard structure was the home of the first missionaries to the village and stands as a marker of the encounter between Iñupiat culture and outside religion at the turn of the 20th century.

The building still belongs to the church next door and is not generally open to the public — but it's a striking sight from the outside, a recognisably Lower-48 farmhouse-style building incongruously planted on the Arctic shore.
