Monolith Garden Trail gives Kingman a strong outdoor option close to town. The loop crosses desert terrain dotted with dark volcanic rock formations, with wide views that feel much more remote than the short drive from Route 66 suggests.
It is best in cool weather or early morning, since shade is limited and the desert can be unforgiving. Bring water, watch your footing, and treat it as a real hike rather than a roadside viewpoint.
