Mount Lemmon SkyCenter

The Mount Lemmon SkyCenter is a University of Arizona astronomy outpost at 9,150 feet on the summit of the Santa Catalinas — an hour's drive from downtown but a world away. The SkyNights program runs four to five evenings a week year-round: dinner, a tour, and several hours at one of the larger public-access telescopes in the country.

You will see galaxies, nebulae, double stars, and depending on the season Saturn or Jupiter. Bring warm clothes — at 2,800 metres it can be twenty degrees colder than Tucson. Book weeks ahead.
