The Tucson Museum of Art sits at the heart of downtown's historic block, on the edge of the original Presidio. The collection is strongest in Latin American art — pre-Columbian, Spanish colonial, modern Mexican — with works from across Mexico, the Andes and Mesoamerica.
The Western American galleries run a strong second; the museum also restores and operates several of the historic adobes around its courtyard, including the Edward Nye Fish House and the Stevens House. Closed Mondays. Free first Thursday evenings.
