Razorback Regional Greenway

The Razorback Regional Greenway is a 36-mile paved multi-use trail that runs from Fayetteville north through Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville. It passes through downtown Springdale and connects directly to the trail systems of each city along the route, making it possible to cycle the entire Northwest Arkansas corridor without touching a road.

The trail surface is excellent, the grade is gentle, and the route passes through a variety of landscapes — urban centres, riverside corridors, and wooded sections. Bike rentals are available at multiple points along the route. The full 36-mile one-way trip takes about three hours at a comfortable pace; most people ride sections. The Bentonville end, near Crystal Bridges Museum, is particularly popular as a destination.

A story
The Razorback Greenway was funded partly through a donation from the Walton Family Foundation — the Walmart founders who are based in nearby Bentonville. The Waltons have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in trail infrastructure across Northwest Arkansas, transforming a region better known for industrial agriculture into one of the premier cycling destinations in the United States.
