Highlands Park is the community green space in central Ben Lomond, and the site of the annual Ben Lomond Highland Games. The games are held each spring and include traditional Scottish athletic events — the caber toss, hammer throw, shot put — alongside pipe bands, Highland dancing, and clan genealogy displays. The event draws competitors and visitors from across the Bay Area and reflects the valley's strong Scottish heritage going back to its early settlers.
The park is also the venue for community events throughout the year and provides a pleasant open space in a town otherwise surrounded by dense redwood forest. Park Hall next door hosts the Mountain Community Theater, which stages several productions annually — a regional theatre company worth checking if the timing aligns with your visit.
