The Lompoc Museum occupies the old Carnegie Library and focuses on the archaeology and history of the Lompoc Valley and wider Santa Barbara County. It is the place to go for Chumash material, local settlement history, and context before or after visiting the mission.
The museum is small and old-school, but useful. It gives the valley more depth than the quick roadside version of Lompoc as murals, flowers, and rocket launches.
