Larkin House

Larkin House is a two-story adobe home from Monterey's Mexican period, built by merchant and diplomat Thomas O. Larkin. It is one of the key buildings in Monterey State Historic Park and shows the local blend of New England and Californio building traditions.

The house is usually seen by guided tour, so check the state historic park schedule before planning around the interior. Even from outside, it fits naturally into a walk linking Colton Hall, the old jail, and the other preserved adobes around historic Monterey.
