WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is one of the best-known road-racing circuits in the United States, tucked into the dry hills east of Monterey. Motorsport fans come for the calendar of races, but the track's reputation also rests on the Corkscrew, a steep, twisting corner that has become part of racing folklore.
It is event-dependent, so do not expect much from an empty track day unless tours or activities are scheduled. During a race weekend, though, it gives Monterey a loud, dusty, adrenaline-heavy contrast to aquariums, beaches, and Cannery Row.
