Dinosaur Caves Park

Oceanfront bluff park in Shell Beach, with lawns, paths, sea views, and traces of a vanished cave attraction.

Dinosaur Caves Park sits on the bluffs above Shell Beach, with lawns, walking paths, picnic spots, and wide views over the Pacific. The name comes from an old roadside attraction rather than real fossils, but the setting is the reason to come.

It is a good counterpoint to the busy pier area: still easy and family-friendly, but with more open space and a better sense of the rocky coast north of town. Photographers and walkers get the most from it.
