Pismo Beach Pier is the town's front porch. It reaches out from the end of Pomeroy Avenue, with the promenade, beach volleyball courts, surf, restaurants, and the big Pismo sign all clustered around it.
Come near sunset if you can. The pier gives a clean view down the coast and back toward the bluffs, and it is the easiest place to understand why Pismo has stayed popular without becoming too polished.
