Del Mar Plaza is a terraced shopping and dining complex built into the bluffs above the beach, with spectacular ocean views from its upper levels. The architecture is Mediterranean in feel, with tile roofs, bougainvillea, and a series of outdoor terraces that justify lingering well past the point of any actual shopping.
The restaurants here include some of the best in town, and the deck at sunset is one of the better places to be in coastal North County San Diego. The mix of shops is upscale but not exclusively luxury — there are practical options alongside the boutiques. The plaza is in the centre of town, on Camino del Mar at 15th Street.
