A tree-shaded residential neighbourhood south of downtown, centred on William Land Park — the largest park in Sacramento. The neighbourhood was developed in the 1920s and 1930s and retains an unusually coherent early-twentieth-century character: bungalows and Tudor Revivals on wide, elm-lined streets, with the park at the centre providing zoo, rose garden, golf course, and picnic grounds.
Land Park is quieter than Midtown and more family-oriented, but has good restaurants along Freeport Boulevard and Broadway. The Saturday morning farmers market in the park is one of the best in Sacramento. The neighbourhood borders the Sacramento Zoo and provides the most pleasant approach to it.
