FiftyFifty is Truckee's best-known brewery and one of the most respected craft breweries in the Sierra Nevada. It has won multiple medals at the Great American Beer Festival, and its Eclipse series of barrel-aged imperial stouts has developed a genuine cult following — the annual release draws collectors from across the country. The taproom on Bridge Street is informal and reliably busy, with a good beer garden outside and a menu of elevated pub food.
The year-round lineup covers IPAs, porters, and lagers alongside seasonals. In winter, the warming ales and stouts are especially appropriate after a day on the slopes. In summer, the lighter beers and the outdoor seating make it a natural stop after a river afternoon. The food — burgers, tacos, and salads — is better than most brewery kitchens manage.
