Lummis House is an arroyo-stone house and garden built by Charles Fletcher Lummis, the writer and preservationist who helped found the Southwest Museum. The handmade house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has the rough, romantic look of early Los Angeles boosterism.
It is a worthwhile stop for visitors following the city's older Arroyo Seco history, especially when paired with nearby historic neighborhoods and the surviving pieces of the Southwest Museum story.
