Ravens' is the dining room of the Stanford Inn by the Sea, an eco-resort at the edge of town, and it serves what is arguably the best purely plant-based meal available in Northern California. The menu draws on the inn's extensive organic gardens and the broader Mendocino agricultural community. The cooking is genuinely ambitious — not compromise dishes for vegetarians but full compositions that happen to contain no meat or dairy. The ocean-view setting and the warm room make this a destination for non-vegetarians as well. Breakfast here, with house-made pastries and garden vegetables, is particularly good. Reservations recommended.
