A small family-run cheese factory on Highway 120 a few kilometres east of town, started by a Dutch family who brought their gouda recipes with them from the Netherlands. The shop sells the full range — young, aged, smoked, and herbed goudas — along with imported Dutch groceries, sandwiches and ice cream, and you can usually watch the cheesemakers at work through the production-floor windows on weekday mornings.
There is a picnic area outside with a small petting zoo of goats and a pond — popular with families heading up to Yosemite. A practical and pleasant stop on the way east.
