A large irrigation reservoir about 8 km north of Oakdale, managed as a Stanislaus County regional park. The lake covers nearly 3,000 acres when full and has a long, irregular shoreline of low oak-studded hills — popular for waterskiing, sailing, jet-skiing and bass fishing.
The park has campgrounds, day-use picnic areas, several boat ramps, and a swim beach on the west side. Summer weekends are busy with boats and ski tow ropes; weekdays and shoulder seasons are quiet, and the bird-watching along the quieter coves is good. A day-use fee applies.
