Caspers Wilderness Park is a large protected landscape east of San Juan Capistrano, with oak woodland, seasonal creek corridors, chaparral, campgrounds, and trails into the inland canyons. It shows a quieter side of Orange County beyond beaches and missions.
The park is best for hiking, birding, camping, or a half-day nature escape. Summer heat can be serious, so start early, carry water, and check park conditions before heading inland.
