Mount Soledad rises above La Jolla and gives broad views over San Diego, the coast, and the inland hills. The summit is marked by the Mount Soledad National Veterans Memorial, with plaques arranged around the hilltop cross.
The stop is short but rewarding on a clear day. It is easiest by car and pairs naturally with La Jolla Cove, the beaches, or the coastal drive north from Pacific Beach.
