Most visitors come for the Royal Gorge — the bridge, the railroad, and the river running through it. The town itself has a small National Register historic district worth a walk, and the surrounding Bureau of Land Management country is good for hiking and biking. Outdoor adventure is what Cañon City sells; it does it well.
