Highlands

Across the Platte from LoDo and a few blocks up the bluff, the Highlands (often just "the Highlands") cover several historic west-side neighborhoods — Lower Highland, Highland Square, Sloan's Lake — that together hold one of Denver's strongest restaurant strips. The eponymous Highlands Square, around West 32nd and Lowell, is the most walkable cluster: bookshops, bakeries, neighborhood bars, breakfast spots with weekend lines around the corner.

The 16th Street pedestrian bridge over the Platte links LoDo directly to the bottom of the Highlands — a fifteen-minute walk between night-out districts. Sloan's Lake itself, on the far west end, offers the city's best photographable Front Range view at sunset.
