Delaware State House

One of America's oldest state capitol buildings

Built between 1787 and 1792, the Old State House on South State Street is one of the oldest state capitols still in use in the United States. The building served as Delaware's legislative home until a new State House was completed nearby — but it was never fully abandoned and has been restored to its late 18th-century appearance. Inside you will find portraits of colonial-era politicians and military figures, along with an original courtroom. Entry is free.
