Dover is on US Route 13, the main north-south highway through Delaware, roughly midway between Wilmington (50 miles north) and the Maryland border. The nearest major airport is Philadelphia International, about 75 miles north.
Greyhound buses stop in Dover on routes between Washington, D.C., and New York. DART First State runs bus service connecting Dover to Wilmington and other Delaware cities. Amtrak does not serve Dover — the nearest stations are Wilmington to the north and Newark, Delaware to the northeast. Driving is the most practical option for most visitors.
