Chinsegut Hill

Historic hilltop manor and preserve north of Brooksville.

Chinsegut Hill stands about five miles north of Brooksville on one of the higher points in peninsular Florida. The manor house began in the 1850s and later became tied to the Robins family, reform politics, and a long list of visitors.

The site works because the house is not isolated from its landscape. A 114-acre preserve surrounds it, so a visit can be part house tour, part walk through upland Florida rather than just another historic-room circuit.
