Indialantic Beach

The beach at Indialantic is a wide, clean strip of Atlantic sand that runs the full length of the town. It is a public beach with free access, and compared to the more heavily visited beaches around Cocoa Beach, it retains a relaxed, local character. The surf is consistent enough to support an active surfing community, and the beach break here is considered one of the better spots on the central Florida coast.

Access points with parking are available along Atlantic Avenue, which runs parallel to the ocean. Facilities are minimal — this is not a resort beach with boardwalk amenities — but the water is warm, the beach is clean, and the lack of development is part of the appeal. In summer, watch for sea turtle nesting activity in the designated protected areas.

A story
The beach here is part of the Atlantic barrier island that stretches from Cape Canaveral south to Sebastian Inlet — the same stretch of coast where sea turtles come ashore to nest between May and October. On clear mornings in the right season, you can watch a rocket launch from Kennedy Space Center while sitting on the sand.
