Kissimmee is effectively part of the greater Orlando area. Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the main gateway, about 20 minutes by car from central Kissimmee. Kissimmee Gateway Airport (ISM) handles some charter and private traffic. Driving is by far the most practical way to get around; the area is not built for pedestrians or public transit.
By road, Kissimmee sits at the junction of US-192 (the main strip running east-west) and US-441/US-17-92 running north into Orlando. The Florida Turnpike has an interchange just east of the city. Bus connections from Orlando are available via Lynx regional transit, but frequencies are low and the system is not designed for tourists.
