Highlands Hammock State Park

Early Florida state park with a scenic loop, hammock forest, swamp boardwalks, and wildlife.

Highlands Hammock State Park opened in 1931, making it one of Florida's oldest state parks. A three-mile scenic loop road links short trails and boardwalks through hammock forest and swamp, with good chances for birds and other wildlife.

This is Sebring's best all-purpose sight. It gives you the old inland Florida landscape without needing a long wilderness day.
