Seminole Rest

Seminole Rest protects ancient shell mounds on the mainland side near Oak Hill, with short trails, historic houses, and views across the lagoon. It is quieter than Turtle Mound and often overlooked by beach-focused visitors.

The site is useful for understanding how long people have lived with this lagoon environment. The mounds are archaeological resources, not picnic hills, so stay on marked paths and read the signs rather than scrambling over them.
