The rebuilt pier that opened in 2020 is a genuine improvement on its predecessor — a long promenade stretching 1,400 feet into Tampa Bay, with restaurants, a bait shop, a small beach, and sweeping views back toward the downtown skyline. Pelicans and dolphins are regular visitors. It is free to enter and worth a walk at any time of day, though the views are best at sunset when the light comes across the bay from the west.

The pier connects directly to the waterfront park system, making it easy to combine with a visit to the nearby museums.
