Poipu Beach Park is the reason most travellers choose this corner of Kauai. Two sandy coves meet at a narrow sandbar, creating a protected swimming area on one side and better snorkeling when the water is clear on the other.
It is not a lonely beach, and that is part of its usefulness. Lifeguards, picnic lawns, restrooms, and food nearby make it one of Kauai's easiest family beaches. Come early for calmer water and easier parking, then return near sunset when turtles sometimes pull themselves onto the sand.
