Collinsville punches well above its weight for a small suburban city. The Cahokia Mounds site alone would justify a visit from anywhere in the Midwest, but the city also claims one of the great pieces of American roadside kitsch in the Brooks Catsup Bottle — a 170-foot water tower shaped like a bottle of catsup. Between the ancient and the absurd, there is more here than most travelers expect.
