Downtown shopping is concentrated at Circle Centre Mall, a multi-level downtown mall with the usual chain mix. For independents, Mass Ave is the most concentrated row of boutiques, design shops, and indie clothing stores — Silver in the City is a long-running anchor. Broad Ripple has more vintage, music, and counter-cultural shops, and the Saturday farmers' market is excellent.
For one-stop bookstores, Indy Reads Books (Mass Ave) and Half Price Books (multiple locations) are the dependable downtown options. Major suburban malls — Fashion Mall at Keystone, Castleton Square — sit ten miles or so out for serious chain shopping.
