White River State Park

The 250-acre downtown park that holds the State Museum, the Eiteljorg, the Indianapolis Zoo, the Victory Field minor-league ballpark, and the TCU Amphitheater. The cohesive cluster — connected by the canal walk on one side and the riverside path on the other — is the most successful urban park complex in the Midwest.

In summer the amphitheater hosts the busiest outdoor concert calendar in the city; in winter, the park is the quiet route across downtown from one museum to the next. Free to walk through; individual venues charge separately.
