Strange Nathanial Cragun House

The Strange Nathanial Cragun House is one of Lebanon's notable historic residences, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house dates from the nineteenth century and represents the domestic architecture of prosperous Indiana families in the post-Civil War period. It sits close to the courthouse square in the older residential section of town.

Lebanon has a reasonable number of surviving historic houses from the same era, and a walk through the blocks around the courthouse reveals Italianate, Queen Anne, and Craftsman homes that give some texture to the town's history. The Cragun House is the most formally recognised of these, though several of its neighbours are worth a look.
