The Morris Performing Arts Center is South Bend's main performance venue, housed in a 1922 movie palace that retains much of its original Spanish baroque interior. The building went through a major restoration in the 1990s and now operates as a 2,500-seat hall for touring Broadway shows, concerts, dance, and comedy.
The architecture alone is worth seeing — the ornate interior is a reminder of the grandeur that 1920s cinema architects brought to small-city entertainment venues. Check the schedule before visiting; the Morris typically has something on most weekends throughout the year.
