A small park runs along the south bank of the Raccoon River just below downtown Adel, offering river access, picnic areas, and a pleasant walk from the town centre. The Raccoon River is a gentle stream through this stretch, more suitable for fishing and birdwatching than whitewater, but the riverbank is attractive and provides a quiet escape from the town's main street.
The park connects to the Raccoon River Valley Trail and is where many trail users enter or exit Adel. In summer, the river attracts herons and other wading birds. The park is small and simple — no amenities — but it is a good place to stretch your legs or have a picnic lunch after cycling a section of the trail.
