The Orpheum Theatre gives downtown Sioux City a dose of old civic grandeur. Built for the age of vaudeville and movie palaces, it was restored after years of closure and now hosts touring shows, concerts, ballet, and the Sioux City Symphony.
It is most rewarding if you can see a performance, but the building itself is worth noting on a downtown walk. It helps keep Sioux City from feeling like just another river interchange.
