Tebbs Bend preserves the site where a small Union force stopped Confederate General John Hunt Morgan's cavalry from taking the Green River bridge on 4 July 1863. The battle was small by Civil War standards, but the odds and the setting make it a strong local story.
A driving route and walking trail connect the main points. It is best visited with the Atkinson-Griffin Log House, which served as a Confederate hospital after the fight.
