McDowell House Museum

The McDowell House preserves the home and office of Dr. Ephraim McDowell. In 1809 he removed a large ovarian tumor from Jane Todd Crawford, an operation that became a landmark in abdominal surgery. The museum is small, but the story is strong and pairs naturally with nearby Constitution Square.
