Country Creek is an 18-hole public course on the edge of Franklin, designed by Kentucky's own Kenny Perry — a 14-time PGA Tour winner who grew up in town. Perry built it on family land near where he was raised, and he still drops in. The course is open to the public at green fees a fraction of what a Perry-designed track elsewhere would cost.
The layout is friendly to mid-handicap players, with generous fairways and well-shaped greens, but tight enough in places to keep low handicappers honest. There is a clubhouse with a basic restaurant and a small pro shop. The whole operation has the unpretentious feel of a course built by someone who actually cares about the players who turn up.
