The Cedars is a Greek Revival house built in 1836 at 812 East Cedar Street, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is one of the older surviving residences in Franklin and a good example of the kind of antebellum brick farmhouse that once dotted this part of Kentucky.
The house is privately owned and is best viewed from the street; there are no formal tours. Walk by on a stroll through the older residential streets near downtown, and pair it with the Hargis House and Goodnight House nearby for a casual look at Franklin's 19th-century domestic architecture.
