Hilliard Art Museum

University art museum strong in Louisiana and Southern artists

The Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum sits on the UL Lafayette campus and is the best art museum in southwest Louisiana. The permanent collection focuses on Louisiana artists and the broader American South, with works by George Rodrigue, John James Audubon, and Walter Inglis Anderson. Eighteenth- and nineteenth-century European paintings round it out.

Free admission on Thursdays. The building itself — a glass-and-limestone block by Eskew+Dumez+Ripple — is a small architectural sight in its own right.
